ORIGINAL SCORE: THE DAM KEEPER
"The Dam Keeper" is Tonko House's debut short-film.  The film quickly found success because of it's unique hand-painted look and relevant story about bullying. Being a nearly dailogue-free film, the music served an important role as the voice of the characters and the atmosphere of the world they inhabited. The film appeared at over 75 film festivals and won over 20 awards, and eventually an Oscar Nomation.

PHOX
As a founding member of the Indie-pop band "PHOX" Matteo lends his skills on keyboard, guitar, and vocals and is often involved in the arranging process. PHOX is made up of friends from their mutual hometown of Baraboo, WI and began as a hobby band playing cafes on the weekend. The band has since toured internationally and has appeared at many of the largest music festivals in the US, EU, NZ, as well as press and appearances in major news outlets like NPR, NYT, BBC, including a performance on Late Night TV's "Conan."

ORIGINAL FILM / LIVE SCORE: FORWARD
"Forward" is an experimental, original multimedia piece that was commissioned by The Wormfarm Institute in Wisconsin. The work is part of the annual "Decomposition" series, in which artists make a musical piece based on or responding to the "gene pool" or music created by the artists of years prior. Collaborating with frequent co-composer Zach Johnston, the two shared duties as composers and directors. The loose goal of "Forward" was to address the odd identity crisis of growing up in rural Wisconsin, and the bizarre worlds that exist in plain sight. The musical decomposition elements were largely inspired by the previous work of Madison new-grass group "Graminy." The live performance took place October 9, 2015 in Lime Ridge, WI.
